iPan Recommend a Film——Mom's On Strike 1 Apr 7 2009, 3:38 AM EDT by iPan

It is a film I saw several years ago. When the last lecture discussed about the gender in the work force, I suddenly recalled this film and think its theme is quite related to this topic. So I recommend that this film is worth seeing so that we can have a further understanding of the gender in the labour force.
"Mom's On Strike" is based on a true story in American. Ellie is an overworked housewife. In order to persuade the rest of her family to share household chores, she goes on strike.
After that, Ellie devoted herself into her career and became a local celebrity and a heroine to many homemakers.
I think the significance of this film is the liberation of women. It shows that women can skip out from the housework and can get equal achievement as men even if the glass ceiling exists in the work sphere.
